The Dragons created a whirlpool today and washed out the North Forney Falcons at Lehman Swim Center. Both boy’s and girl’s teams breached the water’s edge with tremendous performances. The Dragons didn’t take long to drown the Falcons and post a score of 15-1, improving their district record to 3-0 and remaining the current leader in district standings. The Lady Dragons also submerged their opponents, winning their game 20-2.
Sophomore, Cy Scroggins glided through the water and placed the ball in the back of the net, leading the team in scoring for the Dragons. The Lady Dragons’ fiery pace heated the pool to uncomfortable levels for the visiting Falcons.
The Lady Dragons are in the fight for second place in the district standings as they improved to 2-1, keeping in stride with Rockwall. High-octane performances were a sight to see from junior captains, Madeline Richey and Maddie Gayden, as they created waves in the pool that were too big for the Falcons to stop. Sophomore, Amory Cooper led the Lady Dragons in scoring.
Boys and girls teams are back on the campaign this week. The Lady Dragons look to remain above .500 in the district and take sole possession of second place. The Dragons look to keep their undefeated district record unblemished as they battle a team looking for their first district win.
Water Polo teams play in Rockwall this Tuesday with the Lady Dragons’ game starting at 6 pm and the Dragons’ game starting at 7:15 pm.
